Community Christian’s Greyson Lowry – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Norman

Community Christian sophomore Greyson Lowry is making his presence known on the court this season. Playing both point guard and shooting guard, Lowry has established himself as one of the top shooters in the state for his class while also showing he can manage point guard responsibilities when needed. Last season, Lowry did not open the year in the starting lineup. However, according to head coach Tom Price, his steady quality of play earned him a starting spot after Christmas of his freshman year, and he never gave it back.

When asked about his role this season, Lowry said, “I’ve been focusing on scoring, giving full effort, and leading the team with my actions.” That consistent approach has helped fuel his success. “Knowing that whatever happens is God’s plan and I can trust that it’s good,” he shared.

One moment that stands out to him from this season was the CCS tournament.

“Our CCS tournament was really good for us because we played three good teams and fought well in all three games.” Battling strong competition gave the team confidence and momentum moving forward.

Coming into the year, Lowry made it a priority to elevate another area of his game.

“Defense and my physicality,” he said when asked what he worked hardest to improve.

Faith plays a central role in his journey.

“Jesus,” Lowry answered when asked who inspires him.

He also credits his coach for lessons beyond basketball.

“Our coach reminds us every practice that our lives are bigger than basketball and the most important thing is our relationship with Jesus Christ.”

When asked who has had the biggest impact on his career, Lowry points to trainer Stacy Hansmeyer. His goal this season is simple, to get to state. After high school, he hopes to play college basketball or pursue ministry.
