Edmond Santa Fe’s Roslyn Stark – Tennis Spotlight

Edmond Santa Fe’s Roslyn Stark

Edmond Santa Fe sophomore Roslyn Stark has found a home on the Lady Wolves varsity tennis team, where close relationships and steady growth shape her experience as the No. 1 doubles player. Stark said the bond she shares with her teammates is one of the best parts of competing for Santa Fe.

“I love how close our team is! We all get along and lift each other up when we’re down,” she said.

That support matters in a sport that demands communication, trust and resilience, especially in doubles play. Stark, a sophomore, said she competes at No. 1 doubles on varsity, a role that brings constant challenges against top competition.

“The competition is always fierce, and you and your partner have to understand each other,” Stark said.

Her approach to the game is rooted in perspective. Stark said one of her biggest strengths is her ability to move past mistakes, a mindset she believes is essential in tennis, where points and momentum can change quickly.

“I think one of my strengths is being able to overlook mistakes, and I’m always trying to improve my consistency,” Stark said.

That same outlook has been reinforced through athletics. Stark said sports have taught her lessons that stretch beyond the court and into everyday life.

“Athletics has taught me that it’s important to overlook small mistakes and that you can overcome obstacles even without perfection,” she said.

Off the court, Stark draws inspiration from her family. She said watching them endure difficult moments and come out stronger has given her examples to follow in her own life.

“I’m inspired by my family because I have watched them persevere through rough times and become stronger because of it,” Stark said. “I am so lucky to have people in my life that I can look up to, and they truly help me in every way possible.”

Representing Edmond Santa Fe is another source of pride. Stark said the school’s supportive environment and active student body make wearing the Lady Wolves uniform meaningful.

“I love the people at Santa Fe, and I feel like it’s a very supportive school,” she said. “There is a lot of school spirit, and students love to get involved in every activity. I love representing a school I’m proud to be a part of.”

Looking ahead, Stark said she hopes to attend college and major in education, carrying with her the lessons tennis continues to teach about poise, persistence and progress.
