9Q’s with Carl Albert’s Ira Bell – Presented by Eskridge Honda

VYPE: How long have you been in wrestling?

Ira Bell: I’ve wrestled about three seasons now.

VYPE: What got you interested in the sport?

Bell: I used to do Jiu-Jitsu outside of school, but my grandpa got me into school wrestling.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite memory in your time competing for Carl Albert?

Bell: I have tons of good memories, but my favorite has to be winning district duals and then going onto dual state.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against?

Bell: A team I like to go up against is probably Shawnee.

VYPE: Let’s talk about your teammates. Which player on your team would you not want to go up against? Who is the loudest? Who keeps everyone laughing?

Bell: I would not want to go up against Cruz Young, who is also the loudest in the room, but Kingston Sikes is the one who always makes jokes that cause everyone to laugh.

VYPE: What song hypes you up before a match?

Bell: I’ve got a couple of songs that I listen to, but the most consistent of them has to be MF Czar or anything by MF DOOM.

VYPE: What is your go to post-game meal?

Bell: After long tournaments we typically go to a sit-down restaurant like The Catch or Ted’s.

VYPE: Who do you look to as a role model and why?

Bell: I think my role model is Brayden Mixay, he’s pretty cool and really talented in the sport.

VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school?

Bell: My favorite subject this year has been AP World History.
