What were you doing at four years old? Choctaw High School’s Cooper Zeiders was stepping onto the baseball diamond. Now a senior, Zeiders is a member of the varsity baseball team, which is having a solid season under head coach Shane Hawk.
Zeiders plays third base for the Yellowjackets and said he loves the position and loves to take his cuts at the plate.
“My strength is my ability to hit gap-to-gap consistently. I’ve improved the most on my defense,” said Zeiders.
As a student-athlete at CHS, Zeiders said it’s the perfect environment for him and he’s grateful for the opportunities it’s given him during his time at the school.
“What makes CHS great is the ability to do work online, which benefits me as a student athlete, because I’m allowed to go work out at any time,” said Zeiders.
Zeiders said his bond with his teammates is strong and he is grateful for the support he receives. “What I love about my teammates is the connection and the bond we all have with each other. The support from my parents, especially my mom means the world to me. My mom really inspires me, by seeing all the hard work she’s put into me has made me want to work harder every day,” said Zeiders.
Now that he has signed to play baseball at the next level, Zeiders is focusing on making the most of the rest of this season by playing hard for CHS and his teammates.
