Mustang’s Reese Poage

Anyone associated with Mustang High School has heard the name Reese Poage. They may know her from her time on the softball team, as a member of PCLC or National Honor Society. They may also know she is an Oklahoma State commit for softball. The senior has enjoyed a tremendous high school career.

“I am planning on playing softball at Oklahoma State and starting my pre-med journey. I would like to join a radiology program and become a radiologist,” Poage said.

As a member of the varsity softball team at MHS, Poage has enjoyed some great moments on the field and memorable times off the field. From fighting through adversity on the field to relaxing and laughing on the bus to the game, Poage is taking some great memories with her to the next level.

“What I’ll remember most from high school is winning state and all of the lifelong friendships I’ve made,” Poage said.

Her faith guides her through the hard times and serves as a reminder to be thankful during the good times. Spending time with friends and family is a priority for Poage. Celebrating the graduation milestone is one of many things left to do on her list.

“I plan on celebrating graduation by spending time with my friends who are also going away for college. I’ll also be starting up travel ball with some other friends during the summer!” Poage said.

The utility/catcher wanted to give a quick thank you and leave some advice behind for the younger classes coming up.

“I would like to give a shout out to Coach Bass, the head girls’ basketball coach. She helped me grow as a person and a player, and she pushed me to be the best I could be,” said Poage. “My advice for the following classes is to not miss a moment. It truly does go by so fast, so there is nothing you should take for granted. Especially your friendships you’ve made in high school.”
